On Q Biometrics is certified by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to fingerprint via Live Scan (digital) and FBI FD-258 Ink Fingerprint Card. Applicants needing an FBI level criminal background check MUST be fingerprinted by a certified fingerprint specialist. On Q Biometrics is Chicago’s trusted source for ink fingerprinting.

More and more applicant groups and professionals are being carefully vetted for jobs in public safety, banking, education, childcare, healthcare, elder care, transportation and more. It is essential for federal, state, local and commercial entities to ensure individuals in trusted professions are who they claim to be and will not pose a risk or threat to the people they encounter or serve.

Chicago police departments and the sheriff offices no longer offer ink fingerprinting to the general public. Many of our applicants are originally instructed to go to their local police station or sheriff office to be fingerprinted. However, some Illinois law enforcement Agencies migrated away from providing a fingerprint service to the public. On Q Biometrics Services is now Illinois’s trusted alternative for live scan fingerprinting.

Ink Fingerprinting is typically required for out-of-state and out-of-country purposes. The livescan fingerprinting can be used to check your criminal history file at the Illinois State Police “State Level”. However, in order to process your “National Level” criminal history summary, you MUST submit an FD-258 ink fingerprint card to the FBI CJIS Division. Some common “hard card” ink fingerprint candidates include:

  • Personal Background Check (Check for accuracy and errors).
  • Attorneys – To correct errors, expungement.
  • Government and Federal Jobs.
  • Traveling Nurse (RN).
  • Visa & Immigration.
  • SF-87 Fingerprint Card Applicants (Federal Employment)

On Q Biometrics strives to capture the best quality fingerprints possible. Our success rate is very high. Occasionally, fingerprint cards get rejected because of low quality images. This is usually due to age. Although our fingerprint patterns never change, the ridge lines do get “worn down” as we age. Our fingerprint expert takes great pride in consistently producing the best possible prints. In fact we guarantee it! If your fingerprints are ever rejected due to poor quality prints, we will reprint at no charge.

Whether a client needs one person fingerprinted (no minimum), or a comprehensive fingerprinting program for all current and future employees at various locations (no maximum) our services are extremely beneficial and user friendly. We try to avail ourselves at all times, and can schedule an appointment almost anytime, anywhere including weekends.
